URIC ACID

The "Desi" Low-Purine Meal Plan

You don't need fancy diet plans to manage this! Your Indian kitchen is full of remedies. Here is a sample one-day plan:

  • Early Morning: Warm Lemon Water (helps alkalize the body).
  • Breakfast: Vegetable Poha or Oats Upma with a small bowl of low-fat curd.
  • Mid-Morning: A bowl of Papaya or a few fresh Cherries.
  • Lunch: 2 Chapatis + Lauki (Bottle Gourd) or Torai sabzi + a large bowl of Cucumber salad.
  • Evening Snack: Roasted Makhana (Foxnuts) with Green Tea.
  • Dinner: Light Moong Dal Khichdi with a side of steamed beans or cabbage.

✅ 3 Golden Rules for Relief

  1. Hydrate: Drink 3 liters of water daily. It’s the easiest way to "wash" the acid out of your system!
  2. Switch your Dals: If your levels are high, temporarily avoid Rajma, Chole, and Urad Dal. Stick to yellow Moong Dal.
  3. Move Safely: While rest is needed during a "flare-up," gentle mobilization and physiotherapy are key to preventing long-term stiffness and joint damage.
